Biryani rice is a popular Indian dish made with basmati rice and biryani essentials like spices, herbs, and onions. Biryani is one of the most beloved dishes in India, with many variations made and enjoyed.

The main difference in Indian styles is that they cook the curry along with the rice. Every weekend, I cook delicious biryani and enjoy it with my family and loved ones.

Today, we will share the Karai Kudi style prawn biryani.

Ingredients:

✅ Biryani Rice - 2 cups

✅ Prawns - 1/2 kg

✅ Cashew Nuts - 50g

✅ Raisins - 25g

✅ Star Anise - 1 piece

✅ Cloves - 4 pieces

✅ Cinnamon Stick - 2 inches

✅ Cardamom Pods - 3 pieces

✅ Garlic & Ginger - minced

✅ Water - 3 cups

✅ Salt - to taste

✅ Yogurt - 150g

✅ Mint Leaves - 2 sprigs

✅ Cilantro - 2 sprigs

✅ Red Chili - 1 piece

✅ Green Chili - 1 piece

✅ Tomato - 1 piece

✅ Onions - 2 pieces

✅ Bay Leaf - 1 piece

✅ AKS Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon

✅ AKS Chili Powder - 1 teaspoon

✅ AKS Biryani Powder - 50g

✅ Ghee - 2 tablespoons

Preparation:

👉 Mix AKS chili powder, AKS turmeric powder, minced garlic & ginger, and salt to taste.

👉 Heat a pan and add cooking oil. Fry the prawns until golden brown.

👉 Heat a pan and add ghee. Then add the spice mix, cashew nuts, raisins, and onions. Stir until golden brown.

👉 Add tomato, red chili, green chili, bay leaf, mint leaves, cilantro, and salt to taste.

👉 Next, add minced garlic & ginger, AKS biryani powder, yogurt, and a little water. Stir for 5 minutes.

👉 Add soaked biryani rice for 20 minutes. Mix well and add fried prawns with a cup of water.

👉 Let it cook. Ready to serve. Enjoy! 🍽️
