Our Story
AK Seenivasagam & Brothers Sdn. Bhd., currently known as AKS Nivaas Sdn. Bhd., was initially established in 1948 by Mr. Seenivasagam in Sungai Nyior, Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia. This small-scale family business exclusively produced sesame oil using the Ghani technology, a traditional oil production method. The pure sesame oil was then transported door-to-door on bicycles and sold to nearby customers and shopkeepers.
In the early 1960sIn the early 1960s, the business transitioned to an industry that employed machinery for processing and manufacturing sesame oil (under the brand name Single Boy). In addition to sesame oil, the company also expanded its product range to include camphor tablets (Elephant brand, Om V brand, and Diamond brand), black matpe, papadum chips (Revathi brand), and vermicelli (Rose brand). AK Seenivasagam & Brothers was the first company in Malaysia to manufacture these products. Building on its success in meeting local market demands, the company began exporting its products to several countries in Asia and Europe in the early 1980s. In the early 1990s, the company began producing instant products such as Thosai Mix, Vadai Mix, and Idli Mix under the brand name Rajme. In 2014, we ventured into the production of quality spices, truly vegetarian curry powders, flours, and pre-mixes. As one of Malaysia's pioneers and key players in the Halal industry, AKS Nivaas Sdn. Bhd. obtained Halal Certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) in 2009. AKS Nivaas Sdn. Bhd. strictly adheres to worldwide Islamic standards (MS 1500:2009) to meet the requirements of the Muslim community while also complying with international safety and health standards. |
